Mara’s practice is an abstract exploration of moments when the barrier between the interior and the exterior worlds vanishes, when time and the self are lost. It is concerned with the personal experience both in the process of creation and the perception of the work. This subject matter has evolved by paying close attention to the meditative and transcendental qualities of creative as well as everyday life experiences. The experience of the emotional state of the sublime is what the work is inspired by, aspiring to become characteristic of this sensation of serenity and simplicity.
